Prometheus Watching a Quantum Computer
I stole fire
and placed it in human hands
to light the night,
to turn fear into thought
With that fire
they shaped the world
and at last
they shaped something like me
Not fire now,
but stolen possibility, a machine that trembles
between here and elsewhere,
between fate and chance
Quantum computer,
you are not a gold,
yet
you reflect
the empty throne of gods with a cold light
For fire
I was bound to a rock,
for you
humans
bind themselves
Fear
is not a punishment,
I have learned
it is where wisdom begins.
Prometeo ante la computadora cuantica
Robe el fuego
y lo puse en manos humanas
para alumbrar la noche,
para convertir el miedo en pensamiento
Con ese fuego
crearon el mundo
y al final
crearon algo parecido a mi
Ya no fuego,
sino posibilidad robada, una maquina que tiembla
entre aqui y alla,
entre destino y azar
Computadora cuantica,
no eres un dios,
pero
reflejas
<수선화>
Daffodils
A light green spring maiden, drawn by the sound of a brook spirit stretching,
goes out on an outing riding on a haze, and the white and yellow daffodils
blooming in abundance along the stream greet her, making the spring day
even brighter and bringing vitality to all things.
As I was gazing at the fresh and vibrant face of Narcissus for a while, to my
surprise, a blond man, Narcissus, furtively appeared. Due to burn with
yearning he couldn’t stand it, couldn’t even look at Echo, who had been by his
side all the whole time, because he already stared at the handsome man reflected on
the water, and stopping in his tracks until his eyes almost fell out.
A fragment of the myth that a man who, exhausted from hunting, was trying to quench his thirst at a spring he finally found, mistook his own reflection in the water for another handsome man, fell in love with its breathtaking beauty, and lost his spirit, unable to drink a single sip of water, before drowning along with his shadow in the water. This instilled in Echo girl only a rage that pierced the heavens. This is read from the daffodils before my eyes.
There is also a story about Jeju Island’s daffodils, in which Kim Jeong-hui*,
who was exiled to Jeju Island, saw so many beautiful daffodils, which bloomed in the air and gave off a fragrant scent, neglected and neglected.
He saw himself abandoned in the world when he saw them with wet eyes.
Daffodils, which are said to be called daffodils because they remind people of water-loving immortals, have these hidden stories like treasures, making them even more interesting to many people.
- Kim Jeong-hui*: famous calligrapher, painter(1786~1856) of the Joseon dynasty(1392~1910), the last dynasty in the history of Korea.
Narcisos
Hymn to Homer
- A song from a 21st century poet
You sang in the darkness.
You carried memories farther than the stars onto your lyre,
creating the world with your mouth and seeing with your ears.
Even in the court of a city-state where the winds of B.C.
blew, even in the rough alleys where wine was thick,
your voice shook people’s hearts like a flame.
You have never seen the flames of Troy, the death of Hector, or the
wandering path of Odysseus,
but you have lived their souls more deeply than anyone else.
The epic was not just a story.
It was the dignity of a person even in the midst of war, and
it was the name of a hometown that should not be
forgotten even on a wandering path.
You were blind.
But you saw fate through your own eyes.
You were a poet.
But history heard the will of the God through your lips.
Today, we still hear your voice.
The unfolds in a world without a map, the
lies on the path we must take, past despair.
Homer,
with the staff of poetry you pointed to, we still find our way.
And we will not forget.
What lasts longer than myth
is your voice, the poet who sang it.
Himno a Homero
